Aria | 12- & 12-storeys | Residential, commercial | Completed in 2009
Return to the Construction Projects list.
Aria is located immediately across the street from the Y-lot development (Marriott Inner Harbour, Astoria and Belvedere towers) and the downtown lawn bowling field meets the property immediately to the south.
Originally proposed as a 19- and 14-storey two-tower development, some councillors found issue with the height and through a lengthy design process the project eventually received municipal approval at 12-storeys.
The entire length of the development has ground floor retail space.

Sep 11, 2009 at 8:59 pmI'm thinking the airy area outside the Aria should have had a double collonade of trees on either side of the sidewalk instead of a single row of trees. They do this in Vancouver a lot now. There's just too much empty space now.
