Bayview, tower III | 17-storeys; 56m | Residential
Return to the Construction Projects list.
Bayview, tower III, is the third building of Bayview Properties’ multi-phased redevelopment of Vic West’s Songhees neighbourhood hilltop area perched atop an old helipad. The first phase of the project, Bayview One, was the completion of an 11-storey luxury condo with several lowrise buildings. A second residential tower, at 21-storeys, will be completed prior to tower III.
In late 2008, Bayview Properties won approval from council for an increase in height of tower II and tower III to 21- and 17-storeys, respectively, from initial plans for 13- and 11-storeys.
This project was originally called Songhees Hilltop before being re-branded as Bayview.
In early 2011 Bosa Properties of Vancouver partnered with Bayview Properties to build the remainder of the Bayview project and the neighbouring Roundhouse Property.

May 31, 2010 at 8:47 pmI wish Vanderzalm would work as hard to repeal the property transfer tax that he imposed, as he is doing with the HST.

May 31, 2010 at 10:38 pmHST is saving them money - they don't buy the product in the first place - a savings of 1.2 Million by putting a 139K surcharge on.

Correct me if I am wrong, but my math calculates it as follows:
$1,199,000 sale price
$83,930 (PST portion of the HST, ie 7%, you had to pay the GST @ 5% anyway)
-$26,250 HST rebate
=$57,680 additional tax caused by HST - typical scare tactics by the realtors.
