Kirk Hall tower | 10-storeys | Office, commercial | Canceled in 2008
Return to the Construction Projects list.
The Kirk Hall office tower proposal was spearheaded by the St. Andrews Church on a site immediately to the north, and was to replace the Kirk Hall gymnasium. The project now appears to have been canceled in wake of economic conditions. Originally proposed as a joint venture with Westbank Corporation and planned to combine the space of the adjacent Ballantyne property, both proponents pulled back and proposed standalone projects.

So far this council doesn't seem to use that input in the same way. It is a shame - it is expertise available free to the city by volunteers. But whether or not to use it is entirely up to council's discretion.
Tomorrow's planned APC meeting is canceled for reasons unknown.
