I drove past the site and it is definately NOT the pit.

Westridge Landing construction progresses in January. Next phase will see addition if new retail and office space and 63 rental apartments. Opening March 2015. Time lapse video attached

Construction well underway at the Westridge Landing (photos from yesterday). Interesting stuff learned:
- They got a parking variance for around 100 parking stalls
- Building was originally planned to be set back and have parking stalls in front, but Colwood had them build underground parking and locate alongside Wale road
- There will be car share and EV charging station
- Space for farmers market will be built
- They are finding people from all over the CRD are coming just to the Lee Valley (Kind of like when Costco first came to Langford back in the day)
- Holiday Inn is posed to not only be a location for people staying at the casino, but temporary students at Royal Roads
- Tenants who originally planned to be in Capital City Centre are locating in commercial spaces in Westridge

It's crazy how complex this development really is. From Wale Road it doesn't look all that assuming then when you get to the rear along Wilfert ...Bam!

Scaffolding was taken down today for the new Holiday Inn Express Hotel at Westridge Landing in Colwood. Hotel opens November 2nd.

I think it's fine for a business hotel. Overall, glad to see this approach completion and helps fill in a big gap. Now to deal with the pit on Wale and the unfinished parkade by London Drugs..

The pit on Wale has been re-purposed as a small lake with ducks, trees, bulrushes and litter that blows down or is thrown down from the road. Quite a nice get away from all the noise on the Colwood Strip

Nice looking room what is the flooring made from looks like laminate but then again it also looks like short fibre carpet
