Per an article in today's T-C, approval has been granted to construct the Waddington, a 9-unit contemporary condo building on a surface lot in Waddington Alley.

I checked the LeFevre Group's website this morning and, so far, no renderings have been posted...

That's great! I figured that parking lot would remain forever in order to provide the surrounding buildings with parking.

It will be interesting to see the design. Will it be nicer than the adition to the Soda Factory?

I just saw an image in today's *print edition* of the T-C (though I can't find it on the website). The rendering for the Waddington definitely reveals a contemporary design... :)

Here are some more details:

First floor may be office space, or it may be just an entrance. Three floors will be occupied by the nine residential units.

The exact location is the parking lot between the hostel and the Salvation Army store, not the lot beside the bakery (in case anyone was wondering).

Know it all.

So four floors? That seems big, but good!

Hello Everyone
I've just rejoined the forums after being away for most of the summer. Look forward to catching up with everyone.

We've purchased 2 new investment properties and it surely is a buyers market now as people were eager to rent from us right away.

The condo market seems especially to be a buyers market with some awesome units going at nearly 33% lower than in 2008.

Well look forward to seeing what everyone is doing.

Cheers
Sisi (Susan)

Sisi, welcome to the forum.

Do your purchases relate to the project discussed in this thread (The Waddington?). :)

Oh ya, here it is, three years later.

"Flats" is a stupid name for a project. Why not call it "Ye Olde Flats of Waddington" if you want to get cute with old/foreign names?

The rest of the world calls apartments flats but here we can refer to flats as rentals or market units.

I think it's an ok name if you intend to sell the units and not confuse people by calling them apartments or, far worse, condos.
