Thanks for VHF for putting the pieces together!
After a decade in business Pig BBQ Joint will be closing its remaining location at the Atrium office complex by the end of March. In its place a yet unnamed eatery from the team behind the wildly popular Tacofino chain will open this spring.

I remember when Pig was just a little cheap hole in the wall, then it exploded in popularity (and price) and moved into AAA digs, now it's closing?? So much churn in the restaurant business.

As we were a bit rushed a colleague from work and I checked out Tacofino on Fort today - what a pleasant surprise. Fortunately we arrived around 11:45 with "only" about 6-8 people ahead of us.
We decided to grab a seat and wolf down the excellent fare in their eensie weensie tiny space. By the time we were done less than 25 minutes later there were probably 20 or more people lined up just outside the door waiting to order and another dozen ringing the walls waiting on their orders.
Its small, bare, and spartan but the food was excellent and the prices very reasonable ($11 for two scrumptious ling cod fish tacos). Not the place for a business lunch or an intimate date, but if you like super tasty tacos with fresh ingredients at a good price, this place gets two thumbs way up.....

Their crispy chicken burrito is one of my favourite things to eat in the city.

My work-mate order a couple of those tacos and based on how quickly he inhaled them...the poor things didn't have a chance or any idea what hit them....I assumed they were good .

One ahi tuna taco and one steak taco, washed down with a bottle of lime Jarritos could just about be the perfect #YYJ lunch. Right after Yalla.
