But do you want to hold onto a rental property forever, just because? At some point, cash out with a sale!
But why? If you have an asset that costs you absolutely nothing and provides you with an income of $80M yearly why would you cash out? What would you do with the money? If I sell a rental property that is costing me nothing but providing me with an income every year why would I sell it? It is not depreciating. If I sold it, I would have to find something else to invest in to provide me with an income. Unless I was sure I could get more income from another property why would I bother?

Airports paying rent didn't just start... {smh}
Yeah they kinda did, and every government since 1992 has had access to the rental income, and I think it should continue.

Because you'd get a price that you'd think would be crazy to refuse. Nothing less.
ie. you are getting $80M a year on it, but you are offered $5B.

Somebody will only offer you what the ROI is worth. And next year they might offer you $6B.

Appears as though AC has "Rouged" their direct YYJ-YYZ as of May 1st. Google flights is showing Rouge A319 on the direct now.

What's more, right now Air Canada Rouge is saying they will be using a 767-300ER out of YYJ this summer on one of their two daily non-stop flights to Toronto (arrives from Toronto at 10:35 am, then turns around back to Toronto at 11:55 am). This according to the AC website.
Are they really going to fill a 211-seat plane every day out of Victoria?

No, YYJ has plenty of runway for a 67.

Usually AC flies 3 direct flights over the summer daily, sounds like this is cutting back. Not surprised about the move to Rouge. Business class is never even close to being full on those direct flights so an economy only model makes sense.

With a daily A320 and 767 flight AC will be increasing capacity.

AC contact says...
Currently yyj flies an A320 and sometimes an A321 once a day to YYZ and it's generally full. ...they are sometimes oversold. And in the summer they always have a 2nd flight. Usually the 6am then one around 10 or 11am...so if they are bringing in a bigger plane now it'll be a lot smoother for not worrying if it's oversold ... but if one cancels it'll be a real pain to get a whole 767 of people over to vancouver, since most of those hourlies are booked pretty full until 2pm already

I should correct this, I was looking at the mainline 767s. The Rouge 767s actually have a seating capacity of 282. That's quite a sizable load out of YYJ.
Interesting point by G-Man about runway length. YYJs longest runway is 7,000 feet (09/27). Looking online, I'm seeing varying necessary takeoff lengths. Some say 8,500 feet, others say 8,900 feet. Boeing themselves seem to suggest that depending on the load, the 767-300ER requires anywhere from 4,000 to 9,500 feet in runway length for takeoff. Either way, a fully loaded 767-300ER cannot takeoff from YYJ.
Anyways, I wanted to take a screenshot to make sure I'm not crazy in the case AC changes the plane they have assigned to this route.
