Or John Travolta's house. Or IKEA of course.

Maybe it's Mt. Doug?
Whatever it is (or was) it probably blocked someone's view of the Sooke Hills.

I apologize if anyone has already posted about this. I didn't see a dedicated thread, but I also can't figure out the search function, so I might have missed it.
You're not alone, some of us aren't even sure there is a search function.

After reconsideration i believe that it's st John the divine church it had a fire in the early 1960s that burned through the roof it appears that it is covered In some sort of scaffolding here during rebuilding of the church
That makes sense...and makes the photo even more interesting.

About half of the remaining structure still needs to come down as of about 30 minutes ago...
Down to about 25% as of 11:15 this morning

Seems to be a large house or small apartment building?
The Sandpiper at 1630 Quadra Street.

The Sandpiper at 1630 Quadra Street.
Would not have been built at the time of the photo. Sandpiper was built late 1970s or early 1980s.

Well for one the sandpiper is in a totally different direction from the spire of the Vic Conservancy of Music as pictured and for two the picture I posted was taken in 1964 and the sandpiper was built in 1982
so it still is St John Divine or something next to it by the wildfire smokery

Most importantly, you could see the Sooke hills through it!
