Fort Street Side are five trades guys from Keating X that play Tom Petty covers on weekends.
Woss Train Wreck was a quartet of Mt. Doug grade 12s that broke up in 1972 after one year.

Wow when you see it like this, View Towers is even uglier.

^^Maybe we do need a vacant home tax to incentivize renting out VT.

There is something very odd going on with Victoria's ugliest high rise.

A colleague of mine has a plumber friend working on this building. Apparently there are basically two plumbers going through the entire building one suite at a time. The speculation among the trades is that they are trying to upscale the suites.
Evidently speed or time is not of the essence with this project.

They could easily get 30% more per unit in this market, and even higher rents once they do a small touch-up to the interiors. My sense is they are waiting for the majority of the building to be vacant before rebranding the suites.
That building is still known as Crack Towers. That's bad for business.

reconstruction is underway. Most of last year was asbestos abatement and Farmer has the rebuild contract with an expected completion of late summer
it took a long time as there was a lot of discussion between insurance and the building owners. In the end it won't look much different when it is completed

Why am I not surprised that View Towers has a lower east side?

Owner has more money than sense!
50 suites empty? Close to $40,000/month less income.

Believe it or not, the remediation project is just in the final stages of being signed off by the authorities having jurisdiction and the engineers of record.
They need that to happen before they can obtain occupancy permits. It's in the works.

Nope, they are paid by the insurance company each month for their loss of revenue from the fire
Also I would highly doubt they could have got $800/month for those suites. Maybe now with the increase in rental prices, but that still seems high

Oh ya, I mean the new suites. Not much going for under $1000 around town.

The reports that I have received say that the interior of the building is quite nice now.
