Didn't see anything there about it and Mike K says it is coming soon so.......

edit Oh, I see where you mentioned the forum software but don't you still have to upload your pics to another service first?

had been approached by  someone from the Marina, seeking a place for rent for their staff in long term.........

a typical room within walking distance costs about 300 per day from a hotel  or 150-200 if go with air bnb....

My neighbor, ex-Stantec Engineering PM, has been the PM for this project for a few months now and says one of the major holdups is that the developer is in the midst of having to request several variances from BC Hydro with respect to shore power requirements. Progress therefore, unsurprisingly, in terms of speed to respond and accommodate, is of the glacial variety...

Funny you should mention glacial speed AsE. I just had a discussion with a friend about the expression, "moving at glacial speed". It is used to mean that glaciers take decades just to advance a few inches. Well, we can be pretty sure not too many glaciers are advancing anymore. So does it now allude to the speed a glacier retreats? The retreat is happening likely at better than glacial speed. Bottom line is that this expression will probably die out because it won't have any intrinsic reason any more. What do y'all think?

But a retreating glacier is not really moving backwards.  It's just melting faster than it gets new ice.

Glaciers in polar regions will on the whole move faster in a warming climate thanks to more meltwater allowing them to slide easier.

A sea snail's pace.

Reports have suggested the first yachts will dock here before the end of the summer. I believe the ancillary buildings won't be complete until Spring 2018.

Ya in just a couple weeks. The ships coming are otherwise homeless.

You figure each overwintering boat needs at least one crew member, right? That's good for employment. Plus the new hire has a place to sleep!

Well, I doubt they'll have any services, like electricity.  I just see conduits and anchors for light posts.

I imagine if it's just a crew member or two onboard and not entertaining they can be self contained for power needs etc. Even just docked.

Any yacht that will be berthing here will have generators and desalinators and be self-sufficient, but I'm sure there will be shore power and domestic water already built into the floats.

Yeah, eventually, but two weeks from now, I'm skeptical.

Wonder which slip knot-a-yacht has got his eye on?
