The Royal B.C. Museum is revving up for a $10-million renovation to showcase some of 1,100 Emily Carr works now in storage,
refurbish its 1970s-era First Peoples Gallery and create a new Pacific Worlds Gallery and learning centre.
“It’s about time,” Williams said. The Carr gallery will take over 2,152 square feet in what is now the gift shop area.
The museum does not have a dedicated learning centre, despite visits by 35,000 schoolchildren in the past year, Williams said.
As a result, a 5,200-square-foot centre with high-tech connections will replace what is now a storage area near the food trucks, on the north side of the main floor.
The breezeway on the side of the museum closest to Belleville Street will be enclosed in glass.

Hmmm. The grand former plans are off the table indefinitely.
And even for this new plan, they have none of the money.
They have Emily Carr.

The Mammoth of the Ice Age exhibit was one of the better ones we have seen, and it ends today.

Dammit, I wanted to go see that. Today isn't going to work.

You know, I recently bought an IMAX pass. So I've been going a bit.
It's curious to me that the museum and/or IMAX do not have an automated payment system. It seems silly having all those people there and all the line-ups.

Drink and food “specials?”
I suppose since the closure of the RBCM tearoom (or whatever it was called) all drinks and food onsite are "special".

We were always allowed happy hour drinks, but happy hour pricing was not around until a few years ago.
However the Libs put the minimum drink price at a fairly high level so it's really not much of a benefit.

If it were Ringo's car it wouldn't take up much space as he had the Mercedes he crashed in 1980 compressed into a cube for display.

John is wearing a hat; George a short scarf; Paul is clean-shaven and Ringo is looking to his right. Does this help?

This is like a reading comprehension test in elementary school. I see two guys looking right. But I know I've got to use other clues too...
Long scarf, see one, and then a short scarf... clean-shaven, ya...
