Clipper is establishing a year-round passenger ferry service between Vancouver Harbour and Victoria Harbour.
It is anticipated that the operating schedule will require that successful applicants for this position will work a split shift involving 12 hours work with a 3 hour rest period in Victoria between shifts. Clipper will provide a rest location. The vessel will return to Vancouver each evening.
The weekly hours of work will likely vary between 36 and no more than 48 hours per week. It is likely that Clipper will seek approval of an hours of work averaging agreement compliant with the Canada Labour Code.
Job postings are up....
Chief Engineer, Chief Mate and Master for their Vancouver run.
So if you guessed they would need an hour to start the day before they set off... and 15 minutes at end the day to turn it off...
You might guess on a schedule like this:
7am shift starts
8am leaves Vancouver
> > Victoria
3 hour Victoria crew rest
4pm leaves Victoria
