Which government laws apply on native land? Can the natives start giving away free drinks, allow smoking, etc. I know provincial, municipal and CRD laws would not apply

Many Federal laws do apply (ie you can't murder someone on native land), it is just that the Government doesn't seem to want to enforce them on some lands.

Most folks who frequent casinos are already a bit over-weight so not a good idea.

What's that name again - Elements Casino Victoria? I repeat, Elements Casino Victoria. Yup, Elements Casino Victoria. In the heart of Vict... you mean it's NOT in Victoria? Why not call it "Elements Casino View Royal"? Oh that's right, the name "Victoria" works for marketing in a way that View Royal cannot.

well legally when I had some documents to sign my lawyer said that I lived in Victoria as my mailing address said Victoria, BC even though I didn't live in the City of Victoria
Whats the address of the casino -> 1708 Island Highway, Victoria, BC V9B 1H8 Yup VICTORIA!

Ya, I always though the View Royal name was odd.

Then amalgamation should be a no-brainer since you already live in Victoria.
Is a mailing address really the same as a legal address?

the Victoria International Airport is in Sidney, but I don't hear anyone wanting to change the name to Sidney International Airport
in fact the address is
1640 Electra Blvd, Sidney, BC V8L 5V4

The Vancouver airport is in Richmond. The airports are named for the area served, not their geographic location.
Why didn't they call it the View Royal Casino (in Victoria)
With the way the city of Victoria is going downhill (see VHF list) people will go back to using their muni's name in their address.

Everyone knows that the City of Victoria has an out of control homeless population. In addition, Maclean's ranks the City of Victoria as the 2nd most dangerous city in all of Canada
I am so glad I don't live in the City of Victoria

When in reality, to all but locals of course, you DO live in Victoria.

that's not your argument at all, you say only people who live in the City of Victoria live in Victoria, BC...after all you say the new casino should use the title Victoria
btw my mailing address is Brentwood Bay, BC...a short drive away from downtown where I can leave my doors unlocked and the biggest issue is when the neighbours dog does their business on my lawn
Now, NParker as a clear rep for the City of Victoria what are you doing about your homeless and crime problems?

Know it all.
Citified.ca is Victoria's most comprehensive research resource for new-build homes and commercial spaces.

It's odd out there. Some bits have "Saanichton" for the address too.

Is that right? Addresses in BW Bay say Brentwood Bay, and not Victoria? What do Central Saanich residents write as their address?
I grew up in Brentwood Bay and we never used Victoria in our mailing address.

Its either Brentwood Bay or Saanichton NOW. What it was when NParker's time as a kid likely over 20 years ago is a different matter
NParker, still waiting to hear about your homeless and crime problems and what you are doing to fix them. After all you live in Canada's 2nd most dangerous city

If you are gonna float your campaign on Victoria being the "second most dangerous city" in Canada You need to travel some more, go visit some truly dangerous cities.
