To be fair, there's a number of people speaking in support.

 

But this sort of thing shouldn't require mothers to forego putting their kids to bed tonight to speak out against the NIMBYs.  The fact that this gets more than 5 minutes of council debate, let alone public hearing and endless staff reports is absurd.

There shouldn't need to be a need to speak in support of this... that's the James Bay issue... and I hope this one shoots them in the foot in the future.

This is a Daycare proposal according to the post above... not the condo one.

I got a flyer inviting to a neighborhood presentation by Analogue projects ans surside holdings. New rental apartments proposal for the Beacon Arms appts. Quadra street between southgate and convent. From their picture, it wou!d take over 4-5 houses. Meeting was on April 20.

So the entire property outlined in red?

Would the existing Beacon Arms stay or be demolished to make way for an entirely new structure? The lots on Convent near Quadra are large and underutilized. Greater density makes sense here.

^^yes, that's almost the same as the picture on the flyer...i think it includes the other house too.
I don't know anything more, that's why I'm asking this forum....

Perhaps this has already been noted, but there appeared to be a geo-tech drilling team working at the parking lot adjacent to View Towers when I walked by about 30 minutes ago.

Such a prime property for redevelopment.
