My bad- I looked at the website and there are only 6 units (not 9)- sales may be doing ok as they no longer have MLS-listed units.

(The website has not been updated to indicate number of units sold)...

That's cool.   I hear there are some places like that that have a "caretakers suite" that is not really supposed to be lived in, but people do.

The developer behind the new proposals in the 900 blocks of View and Fort street recently acquired 941 View, so a redevelopment proposal could be coming for this site too. See http://victoriamarke...s-harris-green/

Sakura with its partners (the guys behind Jukebox) owned the 800-block property and sold the View Street side to Gordon Nelson. The Gordon Nelson (View Street side) and Sakura (Fort Street side) projects are not related to each other, at least not according to Sakura developments last time I had a chance to speak with developer Dan Robbins.

Mike, do you know if Gordon Nelson has plans for the newly-acquired lot at 941 View?

Oh I'm sure they do, but I'd imagine their focus is on getting the current project through the approvals process.

I spoke to Dan Robbins of Sakura Developments today and he confirms that Gordon Nelson is not developing their half of the property, which is earmarked for a 12-storey condo tower at 930 Fort Street. Gordon Nelson is only developing 937 View Street, a 14-storey rental tower.

So they drilled about 20 holes, filled most back in but set a couple wells too.

Does anybody know what's in the barrels they always leave behind on these sites after testing?  And is it safe for the homeless to drink, because I told a few it was.

I don't know.... sludge from the centre of the earth (the barrels). They do seem to have to stick around awhile on sites before being carted away?

I think the leave them on site as long as the wells are there. Or longer. Maybe it's like a control sample that stays there and can be compared to well samples.

Pacifica Housing is proposing a few new developments in the Burnside Gorge area:

* 2821 Irma Street is proposed as an 11-unit affordable housing building

* 515 Burnside Rd (corner of Jutland) will be redeveloped as a senior's residence

Oh great. Are you able to forward additional details? I assume TL Housing Solutions will be involved, to some degree?

No additional details yet... the concepts will actually be presented to the community tonight at a neighbourhood meeting (see http://www.burnsidegorge.ca/ ).  BCGA may post additional information later this week in the form of correspondence summarizing the presentation and initial community feedback (the correspondence will likely be addressed to the city).

The formal applications for development permits and/or rezoning will likely be filed with the city sometime after tonight's initial meeting (perhaps as early as later this week).
