I think Pilsener Hoyne owns the brewery.

^ Paul Hoyne does not own Hoyne Brewing.

Matt.

My comment was meant to indicate Sean does.

After the article was published one of the YST managers remarked that we had the name wrong, so it was changed to Sean Hoyne (of Hoyne Brewing Co.). This was in error, as Paul Hoyne is the man who will be setting up the brewing facility, and he runs Paul Hoyne Brewery Consulting Services Inc.

Crisis averted :)

Can we all agree that HB Lager will be the most popular beer here?

Paul Hoyne is the (somewhat estranged, if I've heard correctly) brother of Sean Hoyne.

Paul is the founder, and former president of Lighthouse Brewery who now does brewing consulting.

Sean Hoyne is the former brewmaster for Swan's and Canoe now runs Hoyne Brewery.

IMO, Hoyne > Lighthouse but Lighthouse is nothing to sneeze at. I'm interested to find out more as it progresses.

Unless you count the top of the mechanical "floor", then yes it is. All the supports are in for the top of the 15th floor. I am just not sure if the concrete has been poured at this level yet.

Yates Street Tap House has the worst menu, the options are uneventful and the menu itself is always sticky! Keep your sticky menus away from my block :)

Any positives?

It is the highest-grossing per-seat pub in all of Victoria, I notice.  They must be doing something right.

Yates Street Taphouse is the first successful operator in that Dominion space in a long time. The previous two operate seemed to come and go fairly quickly...

About a million years ago I used to enjoy lunch at The Lettuce Patch in the Dominion. I am sure VHF will vouch for its reasonable prices and decent quality food.

I used to sometimes run sandwich station at the lettuce patch. Mostly worked in Hunters though. We used to call it the "garbage patch" as we sent all our leftovers there to be created into soups and hashes. That said it was still tasty.

Restaurants don't throw food away, unless it came off a customers plate.
