I ran into a noodle place today in the rental tower.
I ran away from that place once I tried their food.
Thankfully I wasn't running towards a toilet, but I was moderately concerned.

I had lunch there and thought is was pretty good. Which dish did you have Jonny?
Some kind of luke warm noodle soup with beef. The broth was mediocre at best, the beef was 75% unrendered fat and looked like it was prepared about a week prior. Worst of all the broth was luke warm so I had no confidence any microbes had been killed. The noodles were pretty good, but I won't be going back. Overall I thought it was awful. Too many good options in this town.

Try the Wor Wonton soup at Halibut House, and you will keep going back.

I tried that soup in July and was also unimpressed. Next time I want beefy soup I'll hike to Pho Vy (which could get a debit/credit card machine sometime this century...).

Oh Canada...
Is it lonely up there?

Apparently Townline has submitted to the City for DP on the second phase of Hudson Walk, more rental, a bit of commercial and some sort of open space component in between the two buildings.

You bet, and here's the info:
16-storey rental tower proposed at Caledonia and Blanshard streets
http://victoria.citi...nshard-streets/
Richmond-based developer Townline has applied to the City of Victoria to build a 16-storey mixed-use rental and commercial tower on the southwest corner of Caledonia and Blanshard streets.
The building is the second phase of Townline's Hudson Walk development, a continuation to the north of the multi-phased Hudson Place project that includes the restored former Hudson's Bay Department Store on Douglas Street. [Full article]

So will the back side have units facing Jack Davis?
Posted 14 August 2015 - 05:53 PM
So phase 2 will be the same number of floors as phase 1, but with fewer units? I must say it will dramatically change this corner - for the better.

Looks like they've tried to pull away from the Jack Davis building as much as possible, I don't see how they can't have units on the backside. Looks like a much smaller footprint/floorplate than phase 1. I wonder what they are planning around the backside?

Wow, I really like the looks of that. It's, dare I say, almost modern looking....

Isn't that the northeast corner? Southwest would be the red brick and gold window building.

It's the SW corner of the intersection, but NE section of the lot.
