The Hanjin Vienna — the container ship anchored off Victoria’s waterfront since September — is up for sale.
“The crew is fine ... they are regularly supplied with provisions and crew changes are being carried out according to schedule,” Bettina Wiebe, spokeswoman for Reederei NSB, of Germany, said in an email today.
Reederei is managing the Vienna for its German owner.
Negotiations with potential buyers are ongoing,” Wiebe said.

You have to feel badly for the crew - but I hope somebody in local officialdom at least tells them they're sitting literally right on top of a world class halibut fishing ground....maybe toss a few lines overboard and catch some fresh halibut for supper?

ALASKA
Alaska expects 1.06 million cruise passengers this year, likely breaking its 2008 record of 1.03 million visits. The Alaska Travel Industry Association says larger ships are bringing more visitors, and destinations like Sitka, Juneau and Icy Strait Point have built out piers to accommodate bigger vessels. Smaller ships are simultaneously expanding service, specializing in more remote destinations the bigger ships can’t reach.
Holland America Line marks its 70th year of exploring Alaska with the redeployment of its Oosterdam ship from Europe to Alaska. Seabourn, a small-ship line, returns to Alaska in June for the first time in 15 years. Lindblad launches a new ship, National Geographic Quest, whose itineraries will include Alaska. Carnival Miracle will do a 14-day round-trip to Alaska from Long Beach, California, that will include Carnival Cruise Line’s first-ever call at Icy Strait Point. Crystal Cruises, which last summer sailed the largest luxury passenger vessel ever through the Northwest Passage, offers a repeat trip from Anchorage on Aug. 15.
In 2018, Norwegian Cruise Line will launch Norwegian Bliss, a ship custom-built for Alaska trips.

Hopefully Melania isn't doing her daily check on VV; she'll be pissed if someone else tries to claim her title.

After spending more than 6 months stranded in the waters off southern Vancouver Island, the container ship Hanjin Vienna has been sold for scrap.
The German-owned ship had been leased to South Korea's Hanjin Shipping company, which was declared bankrupt, owing billions of dollars in debt.
Peter Lahay, the Canadian co-coordinator for the International Transport Workers' Federation, estimates the ship will net between $6 and 11-million for it's scrap iron.

All that steel going cheap.
It could be hauled somewhere and make a nice ready to go breakwater, or a bridge across Saanich Inlet, a floating sewage treatment plant, the possibilities....

Wont work for many reasons but here are 2 good ones.
Lisa Helps really does need Help climbing down out of the clouds she is floating around on.
1 There are not enough hotel rooms for passengers to stay at before and after the cruise.
2 Provisioning the ships would be a joke especially when it comes to loading up on booze. Why in the world would they do that in Canada (BC) which is probably the most expensive country on the planet to purchase alcohol beverages

^ Well, they do it in Vancouver, right? Perhaps they get the booze with less taxes, since it's consumed at least partly in US waters.
