So it launches Torpedos down the hallway? We were all herded directly past that thing from the aft deck to the fordeck then off the ship. Keep in mind we are deck level and that device is hard piped/plumbed/wired or what have you (connected!) to the inside of the ship.. that means it would be launching it's torpedo's down the hall, through the forward bulkhead and directly into the back of the large deck gun! :teacher:

I think it is more likely part of a cooling or heating system or maybe fire suppression, unless the side of the ship opens and this pops out, fires, then pops back in?

Bit of googling sure makes it seem like that is their purpose

Was thinking the same thing, but I think it's a door that opens on that wall and the thing is maneuvered around to shoot out the side of the ship. Or they just shoot it out the main doorway.

Maybe we're being played. They want us to show the torpedo, and the Christmas tree symbolizes a Christmas present either to us or them???

They have clearly solved welding issues on those torpedo tubes with pop rivets, but their numbering system seems to omit the even numbers.

I wonder what happens when the command goes out to "fire torpedo # 2" ?

Never been in the navy Bingo?  Rob Randall will find this funny, but I was in the naval reserve for 4 years.

All odd-numbered things are on the starboard side, all even things on port.

I've never been in the Navy, but I've been on enough cruise ships to know passenger cabins are numbered this way.

....................

Well shielded in lead. Can't let the city think their nuclear free zone rules are being flaunted!

Funny you should mention that lanforod. I remember a news conference with Gretchen Brewin way back when she announced she was going to run for Mayor of Victoria. When asked what her proudest accomplishment was after six years on Council, she replied that it was declaring Victoria a nuclear-free zone. These are the people we elect.

I sleep better at night knowing that should the mushroom clouds begin to fill up the skies that Victoria is safe from all possible harm due to the hard work of our current and former elected representatives.
