From the TD building. I poked into an office in the building today and asked if I could snap a quick photo

How many floors left (4?) and any idea when it's expected to top out?
Posted 28 April 2014 - 09:34 AM
There are five floors left and it should be topped out within eight weeks I would guess.

I know concert keeps referring to Era as a 16-storey building but it's actually 15. They're now readying the pour for the roof of the 11th floor with four more floors to go.
For some reason due to the superstition revolving around the 13th floors of their buildings Concert refers to any building 13 floors and higher as being one floor taller than it actually is.

That's five!
This is way too short. I was trying to find the crane from Mt. Doug the other day and struggled. Boo.
It is starting to look good from the street though.

The roof of the 11th floor is what we're looking at in that photo, no?

I was wondering what floor we were looking at in those pics. I was thinking 12?
I understand they are to be complete by November

The false work for the 11th floor ceiling and 12th floor is being put up today, so still five major concrete slab pours to go before this thing is topped out.

Any chance it will be taller than some of the neighbouring buildings: CIBC, St. Andrew's Square, Juliet, Sussex, Staples building? It may have more floors but be shorter due to commercial ceilings being higher.

I would say slightly taller than St Andrew's Square and Juliet and shorter than Sussex, CIBC and Staples.

This will be a great addition to downtown once it finishes. I personally like the facade. I wonder if there will be a second level in it, and if the second level will be residential or commercial. The 2nd level for the rest of the podium is all patio/outdoor space.
I think that the podium should have been a few stories higher - something the height of The Dalton or The Chuchill would have been great on this site.

BTW... won't be the Staples Building anymore after June. The downtown location is shutting down.
Oh that's terrible news I loved that location. I guess monks will be happy.

This morning. Hard to tell if you did not know, but this is actually TWO photos, seemlessly stitched together. For fun, see if you can spot the seem. Usually there is a microscopic imperfection that will give it away. But you'll need a very high resolution monitor.
I'll be giving photography lessons in the fall for those interested.

So if i am reading this correctly, 12 floors have been "completed" (i.e. concrete poured)?
