No doubt, but I'd still say it's quite a bit more convincing than just about every part Vancouver played during the run of the X-files.

Jennifer Love Hewitt's apartment is in the Union Club.

And the ocean around Victoria is posing as... Lake Victoria! (in Uganda, that is)

A film crew was setup on Oscar Street, near Linden this morning. They were shooting with a remote control helicopter camera.
Anybody know what film this is for?

I have always wondered why a place like CHEK does not use all their equipment they have and studio space to produce content for various stations like History or HGTV etc....

They have the capital invested so I would think they could churn out the stuff cheaper than others and make money from the government grants alone

When CHEK was on Epsom, they put on a bunch of live programming from wrestling, and cooking shows to Bob Alyward's Saturday afternoon dance show with live music.

Rogers community television broadcasted live almost daily out of their studio on Blanshard at Cloverdale.

Now television is like soup.

It comes out of a can from offshore, just like your television.

You can't afford to build that stuff locally.

A Facebooker reports that this helicopter is for the filming of "Nautilus" just out of town today and will be burned on Wednesday.

A movie studio in Esquimalt?

noltemug.jpg If Gracepoint is filmed here, looks like Nick Nolte will be in town:

Nick Nolte has joined the cast of the Fox limited series “Gracepoint,” Shine America’s redo of the much-praised ITV murder-mystery “Broadchurch.”

Nolte will play a stubborn local business owner in the seaside town where a boy is murdered. He adds more thespian firepower to a cast that includes David Tennant, Anna Gunn, Jacki Weaver, Michael Pena, Kevin Rankin, Virginia Kull and Kevin Zegers.

Michael Pena of American Hustle will play the murdered boy’s father.

One of my favourite movies was "The Shooter" with Mark Walberg as a sniper, and Michael Pena as an FBI agent.

Oak Bay News:

Hollywood comes to Oak Bay. Robin Driscoll, from Gracepoint Productions, stops to check his work as he and Cindy Sleeman (not seen) paint a sign on the window of the former Guardian drug store on the corner of Oak Bay Avenue at Foul Bay Road. Gracepoint is a new TV series that will be filmed in Oak Bay and this building will serve as the offices of the local newspaper, the Gracepoint Journal. The show will feature actor David Tennant, who starred in the original British series Broadchurch that Gracepoint is based on and who is also known for his role in Doctor Who. I am hoping someone here may be able to help me.

I am trying to find a certain actress that was in a short-lived television series - I do not remember the name of the television series - only that it was a teenage drama AND - here is the kicker - parts of the high school scenes was DEFINITELY filmed outside the front of Oak Bay High School. (And some of the scenes at one of the homes was at a very modern expensive home on the oceanfront here too). But pretty sure the quality of the production was too high to be a Canadian production (hate to say it - but you know what I mean).

That is ALL I have to go on... it was late 2000s that I watched it on television. Or Netflix. I can't even remember that part.

I am *this close* to calling someone at Oak Bay High School or the School District to see if someone can help me.

I know this is a ridiculous thing to be annoyed by - but - there ya go :)

I figure if I can find out the name of the show - I can then easily track down the name of the actress.

Start here?   At 22 episodes, 2002 – Alienated was pretty major.

I have no idea who writes up these synopses,

"Alienated is about a family who gets abducted by Aliens and then crazy things start happening to them."

...but whoever it is must be having a very interesting life.

Definitely nothing alien-related to this series... it was a very basic teen angst high school drama series - possibly murder in it... ugh this is driving me nuts. I just want the series name or one of the actresses/actors names.

It was http's second link that found it for me: http://www.filmvicto...-mini-series-2/

THANK YOU HTTP!!!!!!!

Seven Deadly Sins was the name of the 2-part series.

The actress that I was trying to find is Rachel Melvin. There is a waitress at Moxie's at Yates that is her doppelgänger. Now I must let her know. My life is complete.
