Are you sure about that? Since the Coop payment is based on how much you buy, is it not a refund of your money and not dividend income? Dividend income would be getting money from Coop based on your share of the ownership of the business. I am new to Coop, only need a member for just over a year and a bit so we have not yet see a rebate cheque.

When I was with Interior Savings, they would return large amounts of the interest and fees you paid over the year. In early December we normally would get a payment into our account of close to $1000 - the credit union never withheld any of the payment nor did they issue any tax paper work for it.

Yes I am sure. You will get the appropriate T5(?) info and you will be required to claim it. It isn't a rebate it is an earning on shares.

Costco putting up their fees to $60/yr. from $55.

Interesting, 72% of their profit comes from the fees.

What happens to Costco's $1.50 hot dog deal as top exec retires?

The combo has been the same price since 1985. 'Spending only $1.50 on a meal... That’s something that’s completely unheard of in 2024'

Among Galanti’s most celebrated achievements is his commitment to preserving the price of Costco’s iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, unchanged since 1985 despite inflation.

With Galanti now leaving the company, he’s reassuring consumers that the deal is “probably safe for a while.”

“Some businesses that are doing well with margin … those things help us be more aggressive in other areas, or, as you mentioned, hold the price on the hotdog and the soda a little longer — forever,” he said in an interview with Bloomberg.

He added that Costco culture is about keeping things simple.
