Is the money spent on Halal certification funding terrorism?
No more than your gasoline purchases.
That vast majority of people that eat halal are not terrorists.

But most terrorists do eat halal.

True. But most terrorists also drink water. And most drunk drivers drink alcohol.

Probably not. Do you have any reason to believe it would be, or are you just stirring the pot?
Well, there have been news articles worldwide suggesting it.

This has been a topic that I have been curious about for some time. Apart from the obvious question of what makes one piece of goat acceptable to eat and another not, there are some that question where the "certification funds" end up.
I have no reason to believe anything that I read, I thought that this was an excellent opportunity to learn. Here is one of the reasons that I asked the question. http://www.boycottha...rrorists-zakat/

Quadra Village Butcher Shop is already a halal butcher. Not sure if there is a market for 2 halal butcher shops in Victoria.

So how long has Harvest Road farm to table eatery been open. Saw an article about it on the Vancouver news and think I will give it a try.

According to a review I found googling it, about 2 months or so now. A picture included of a breakfast sandwich... could be an interesting try.

A new meat shop has opened at the corner of Pandora and Quadra St.
One of their sources is Meadow Valley Meats in Chilliwack. I can vouch for that as great quality, used to work there!

I think a mushroom bar would be cooler than pasta.

It's not just you.
The place used to be very happening back in the early 90's, always busy. THE place to go after the bar too.

Is it just me, or do some places not really try that hard. Anyone find this appealing?
Let's see. Canoe patio today honey, or Q-V?
Oh, Q-V for sure, much more spacious and those chairs are awesome.

I've noticed Meat & Bread has been quite quiet all summer, even at 12:15pm on a Thursday. And I'm not sure it's because there are sunnier patio options nearby. Maybe the novelty of their limited menu is hurting a bit.
If you look at their average and poor ratings at TripAdvisor, they all talk about selection.
No coffee eh? Huh.
Two of them also talk about the serving (if you call it that) staff. These guys (mostly guys) are cooks, and well, sometimes cooks are in the kitchen for a reason, they are not your FOH superstars.
The bread seems to be a big hit. Even lots of the higher reviews mention the lack of selection, and sold out items.
