Yup, it's an eatery from the Tacofino crew. Middle eastern food.
Any idea when they will open?

I think the one downtown closed years ago (now Varsha) - does that mean they're completely out of the CRD now?
With Quiznos closing on Douglas a few years back and now with the Vic West one gone, it's looking like their soggy sandwiches may be going the way of peri-peri-chicken...

I'm sad to hear they're closing. I'll miss that chicken.

Is it a good Mexican restaurant? I could go for another good Tex Mex option in town.

The Mexican restaurant in Esquimalt is opening a second location in the old German Schnitzel place downtown
Anything more specific than "the Mexican restaurant in Esquimalt". Name? Location?

It's authentic Mexican food, no tex mex there that I saw (albeit may there's some, but I didn't pick up on it). The food is awesome.
Know it all.

The A&W commercials with the short bald guy handing out Teen Burgers that was filmed in Oak Bay and Downtown Victoria started airing on Tv yesterday

I think you could have phrased that differently without seeming so insulting.
Instead of "handing out", how about "distributing"? Doesn't that sound better?
Posted 03 May 2017 - 09:20 AM
We hand out flyers, we hand out business cards, and we hand out a number of other things such as samples - like the man in the commercial. There's no difference there... but the man could've just been labelled a man... by anyone other than HB I suppose

Can we keep "short bald guy" though?

"The A&W advertisement in which the short & bald travelling gentleman distributes nourishing and delicious meals to appreciative locals..."
Posted 03 May 2017 - 10:21 AM
I think "advertisement" sounds less crass than "commercial".

You mean vertically/follicly-differently-abled person of whatever gender they identify.

You can be the tall guy, the handsome guy, the sharp-dressed guy, the funny guy; but lose your hair and you become the bald guy.
