Padella, the folks that bring you the N48 issue.  Better check your Human Rights compliance...

What's the human rights issue?

Padella and N48 are in no way related.

Matt.

Oh I thought they were connected, my bad.

You cannot not advertise for a certain age of employee. "young" does not pass the test.

There is one in Mayfair. Or at least there was

There was a similar tea place called Teaopia at Mayfair, where the Ben & Jerry's was. They laid off a friend of mine during her probationary period for "having an aura that wasn't in harmony with other staff." Not sure what, if anything, is there now, as it's in the area being renovated.

Has anyone heard anything about that Korean fried chicken place, Chicken 649? It was mentioned before but don't know if it's still a thing :P

Signage is up and major demolition work continues.

Inevitable, but was hoping the restaurant had just moved or the owners started a new venture. :/

Apparently I don't get out much!

Was also surprised to see Sabri gone and "Mantra" in its place near Tillicum.

I received a strata notice that Fishhook is opening a new location at Mermaid Wharf.   Great little waterfront patio there, glad it is finally getting a tenant it deserves.

Sabri started out great then declined steeply. Stopped going 3-4 years ago

So excited about FishHook at Mermaid Wharf! Now, just need to find out what's going in The Janion's leased space. Can't believe that you VV fonts of knowledge (at least, fonts of all my knowledge of Victoria, as I'm a long-distance CoV admirer) haven't even a whiff of a rumour to share?

Is FishHook moving or opening a second location? No signs of this on their media.

I would imagine it's a second location. The original on Fort seems to be doing great--always busy and they have a new small patio with three tables.

Yep, second location.

My source tells me it was meant to just be a commissary kitchen as Kunal is opening a place in the Douglas/pandora building and another one on completion of the Capital Park and is gearing up for that, but he saw an opportunity to compete with his old outfit so why not. :)

Good Earth Coffeehouse will be the tenant in the central plaza building in Capital Park, as per Robert Jawl.

This is the stand-alone building with the sloped walk-on roof. The  plaza construction is partly underway but completion is part of Phase 2 and is targeted for completion by fall 2018.

So we know for sure the following establishments will open:
- Red Barn
- Fishhook (might have a different name)
- Library
- Goodearth

Any others?

Just to add some info about the library:

it will be 7000 sq ft, opening approx. January 2018, and will include a reading room, computer labs, and meeting rooms for community usage.

Interesting about Good Earth. That will be well located for people living and working on that block, and will compete with other nearby coffee houses.
