Pierogi, not perogie.

Your spell checker sucks. ;)

Anyways, a "milk bar" in Poland is a local cuisine fast food setup where you go in, get a pile of food (good food mind you) for cheap and mow down then get out. Pierogi Bar appears to be a play on the Polish milk bar but obviously the term in English would be very confusing and kinda weird of it were directly translated.

What are you using to post photo's. ? Everyone else's photo's show up fine but  on a lot of your posts I get a blank space in Chrome. The photos showed fine on my mobile today. I thought you were "Firing Blanks".. . The picture showed fine in Waterfox, IE etc when I tested at home . Wondering what I have to adjust here and if any one else noticed this? .

Never mine Found it :)  I was using a Chrome extension called Facebook Disconnect 1.6.6 for some reason it was blocking the photos you posted. The extension is to block Facebook from knowing the pages I go to.

Ya, many photos I post here are hosted by my Facebook pages, just using their url for easy posting.

456 Gorge Rd.  Place closes for 14 days to re-jig the menu?  Hmmm, very odd, something else must be up.

Sounds like food inspection violations...

That is really odd. "Pizza Al Forno" should not have had that large of a menu, that they could not just redo the chalk/black board. :)

Hmmmmm, it only opened on July 15th.  Maybe they did not have their permits in order.

Their initial inspection by Island Health was fine, here is the report:

"Initial inspection conducted today. Facility is constructed of materials that meet Health requirements. Hand wash stations are well equipped with soap and paper towels. Surface sanitizer dispenser is available. All equipment are in operation. Please conduct a final cleaning of all surfaces prior to any food preparation. Facility is approved to operate, first routine inspection within two weeks."

You can look up any Vancouver Island restaurant on the Island Health inspection web site.

I hear there's been a management shake up last week at Pescatore's/The Oyster Bar, in the Belmont building. Out with the old, in with the new.

I'm not surprised. Their hours were all wrong for the food they served. They were open something like 11am-7pm Mon-Fri. No one wants a big greasy poutine in the middle of the day and then go back to the office and sit at a desk all afternoon. You know who wants greasy poutine? The bar crowd. They should have been open until 3am Fri and Sat. Ever been to Ali Baba Pizza at 2am on a Saturday? It's packed.
