Windows are already going in on the second floor this week. Sooner than I had expected, but then I suppose there's no need to wait for the building to grow taller to start closing in the lower floors.

I read through the disclosure statement for this development today and first time in reading 100+ of these that I've seen a variance clause where the purchase price might increase. Usually it only addresses a price adjustment if the unit is smaller than expected. Fair to both parties but would be interesting if the buyer could not come up with the additional amount.

I'll help tie the two threads together: 989 Johnson and HP1 are my two favourite projects at the moment.

I know we just got a photo update two days ago but it appears they've started with the windows since then!

Windows are now going in on the third level.
Also, even though the excavation for HP2 is massive, I'd still estimate that at least 25% more rock and rubble needs to be removed before this area is ready for the last phase of underground parking.

It's been a while since we've indulged the great spandrel debate, so allow me to fan the flames again. Part of me is happy that they've chosen a different colour than the standard seafoam green, but part of me is unhappy because the dull blue colour that they chose reminds me a lot of the modernist cladding on the old BC Tel building that used to occupy the corner of Blanshard and Johnson (now part of the footprint of 800 Yates). Does anybody have a pic of the building that I'm talking about?
