Flew over the Sooke reservoir today..a long way to go yet before it's full...

In Victoria October, November and December of 2013 were the driest October, November, and December in a hundred years.  The Pacific Northwest of the USA is in an extended drought and California has proclaimed a state of emergency over the shortage of water.

Oh, goody!  Should be a good fire season! :)

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Last week the media reported on the reservoir being only 85% full and the world-ending implications of that, so next week we should expect them to cover how the reservoir is overflowing and needs to be expanded otherwise we'll run the risk of running out of water.

Portland empties 144 million-litre water reservoir after teen pees in it

Portland, Ore., officials pulled the plug and dumped 144 million litres of treated water Thursday after a teenager was spotted peeing into city reservoir.

Security cameras caught a 19-year-old peeing through an iron fence into one of the reservoirs at the Mount Tabor facility in southeast Portland.

On the bright side, I think I've identified some individuals to whom I can market my new line of homeopathic medicines...

The City has turned off the water on my block between 8AM and 3PM.

This is kinda lame.

Not sure. They didn't tell us anything other than the scheduled time for the cutoff. I'm assuming it's a water main upgrade.

Anyone notice anything a little "off" with the water today?

How do you mean 'off'?  I've not noticed an appearance or odour issue (in the James Bay Area -- perceptions might vary a bit by area).  Can't vouch for taste as I distill all my drinking / cooking water.

It had a funny taste and odor this morning.  Haven't checked this afternoon.  I noticed it in a cup of water I poured this morning and again in the shower.
