Silver City has a true IMAX screen? I thought the only one was at the RBCM.

Yes both the film format and sound system at SC-Tillicum is true IMAX.

In North Park? The only thing anyone cooks around here is meth.

I don't know where it's shooting but the trucks were all parked at Vic High.

D U N K I R K  is excellent a 10 out of 10

My better half's grandad is 96 and I asked him if he would be interested in seeing this movie. He immediately recalled being posted at Bristol, England during that time waiting to be sent to France when the flood of troops came back from France. I think we'll take him but I'm concerned about reports of the loud soundtrack. I may bring earplugs.

Ya it's loud.

Ya Silver City has an IMAX, but I think the screen is smaller than RBCM. And RBCM has the latest laser projector.

Gourmet Detective was shooting at a bunch of locations on upper Fort Street Sunday. They were using North Park as a crew park and circus location.

Don't be so sure.

Good plan - it is loud, starting right out of the gate with the trailers for other movies which of course these days goes on for 20 minutes or more. This is not a "battle scene"-focused movie epic so its not like he'll be subjected to endless ear splitting explosions and human carnage, rather focuses more on three sub-plots within the main movie; the Hans Zimmer scoring IMO really is the 'star' of this one.

Yes, it's 3 overlapping and not always in sequence stories.  Director known for this.

A little info on the Hans Zimmer soundtrack to Dunkirk, which I read somewhere was really good.

Interesting short video.

I just went to it for the second time and I enjoyed it just as much. At the Capital 6 there were only 5 people at the matinee.

The evacuation was a limited success if you were in the right place at the right time, otherwise you could be killed anywhere on the way home, and the film graphically illustrates that.

He told me he was talking to a bombardier ("two stripes") shortly after the evacuation who described the sight of all the evacuated soldiers wearing their military-issued white sneakers, countless white shoes. Funny, he often forgets the day of the week but he can recall conversations like that as if it happened yesterday.

A part of the film that was a bit phony was the burning Spitfire on the beach that lacked an engine, but had a silly propeller shaft going back to the cockpit.

I would of thought the replica builders would done a better job of that scene.

I don't believe I ever actually saw a movie at the Counting House. What a funky location that was.
