I think this is a fair comment we should be allowing greater heights for these visually appealing modern days structures. the greater height can hide the ugliness of the 60's and 70's nothing wrong with blocking the sightlines to cinder block buildings

What is the general lifespan of towers like the biggies in James Bay or even View Towers? At what point will there be a turnover in the housing stock that went up in the 60's and 70's (or whenever the bulk of the tall apartments and condos were built in Victoria)?

They've got decades of life left for sure. The only issue will be maintenance like window replacements and such. The big monsters aren't going anywhere for a very long time.

Looking over the floorplans does anybody else agree that they are a little bizarre in terms of layout?

A few odd ones on the ground floor but #2 - #8 the floor plans look okay to me?  Which ones do you find bizarre?

- There is no entryway on 1 br and den Menzies #509 and Luxton #608

To be specific:

- The 1br Lewis #601 doesn't have an island or wrap around kitchen
- There is no entryway on 1 br and den Menzies #509 and Luxton #608
 

 

#601 is a kitchen design that Chard has gone with before and hasn't had problems selling (example of similar kitchen layout at the 834).  Regarding the other two you are right but I don't see too much more you can do there.  It has a coat closet and a den to throw your stuff into upon arrival.
