The station in SFO was under construction when I was there last week, but admittedly I'm not aware of the specifics.
Isn't LA-SFO to be the hyperloop route?

^ I think that is on hold due to cost.
They are still working on it, it is being phased with most construction currently between Fresno and Madera I believe. Eitherway the central valley is where most of the work is happening atm due to less complexity with the more urban areas.

What next? Black vehicles only on Douglas? White vehicles only on Cormorant?

Oh, I thought it was McKenzie.
When you click an image link like that on Reddit it could be literally any point on the globe, yet the instant I saw that image I knew it was the TCH. Weird. Because it's not like there are any unique landmarks shown.

Did you ever play www.geoguessr.com? Sometimes it really is amazing how you can do a quick 360 in some spot you've never seen before in your life and then guess where it is to less than a few miles. Also odd, Bear Mountain was a location in one of my very first games.

So they are having a ground breaking but the winning contractor has yet to be announced?? Or it has? If so who won the contract.

Yes with Todd Stone. Portage at Esson. Same spot as the 2015 announcement I assume.

I might swing by too. If you see a guy with a weird bike with a toddler on the front, come say hi.

Sorry, don't know who won the phase 1 contract.
Seems odd to have a ground breaking with out a public announcement ahead of time of who the primary contractor is.
I will hazard a guess ...#1 Guess Jacob Bros #2 guess Scansa
