I am posting about an exciting new project in Port Renfrew being developed by Three Point Properties. The property is located immediately west of the town centre of Port Renfrew on a the former R&R Retreat RV site, featuring ocean side boardwalks and beach access. The Wild Coast Cottage project is a really innovative revitalization of this recreational site: 40 architect-designed 'micro-cottages' built to fit the existing, small-footprint RV sites. The first cottages to be released for sale range in price from $122,900 to $175,900 for lot and cottage, HST included.

To learn more about this unique project, please visit the website at www.wildcoastcottages.com

Sincerely,

Nancy Paine

Sounds interesting. If I had an extra $130k sitting around I'd consider one of these.

Are there water views right from the cottages themselves? How far of a walk are beach areas, etc...?

I'd love something that size and price in the city to LIVE in, would be about the maximum I could afford.

Some of the cottages will have water views and all are in close proximity to the water and ocean-side boardwalk. You can see an aerial of the property showing the cottages in reference to the water on the website at www.wildcoastcottages.com

I found your website difficult to navigate at first because the tabs are white print on pale grey and I didn't realize at first that they were tabs. Also - it would help if you could show how the units are configured to take advantage of the views. If they are all facing the street (as in a suburb) half of them will have their backs to the water. Who would want to have a cottage facing the other cottage across the street if the view is in the other direction? It would also help to have a sense of the topography of the site. Is it sloping? are the two rows of cottages tiered??

/\....Great little development; we looked at these units and lots in the fall.

Interestingly most of the owners - totally unscientific poll...based solely on talking to random folks sitting on their vernada's :) - appeared to be from the lower mainland. Naturally the lot/cabins remaining were mostly of the non-water view variety. Awesome surrounding though especially if you're into boating/nature/hiking/fishing......

Looks like it would be a nice place to retire to (provided you are in relatively good health and don't need the medical services of a big city).

Perhaps - although the majority of the owners we spoke to were generally younger than retirement age; suspect given the preponderance of mainland owners more than a few had cashed out of that hot market, likely bought a place in Greater Victoria and tossed a few of their more than ample left over bucks on these places as weekend getaways.

I note these units now "start" at $369K. Last fall you could still get in for < $300K and I know initially roughly a quarter mill would get you in the front door, pardon the pun. If you consider "recreation" property + cabin/cottage + water view in the Greater Vancouver area, $369K won't even buy you a kitchen sink let alone a potential 1300 s/f cottage overlooking the water and mountains.
