Well the project to build a museum display building for my late Grandfather's streetcar models has finally been completed. We had a private opening ceremony last Saturday for family, close friends and those who helped on the project. The public gets to see it starting this weekend.
I will be at Heritage Acres tomorrow, so I hope to see you there.
Below are some pics of the opening ceremonies.
Cheers

Way to go Aaron.
BTW, what was unveiled when the white blanket came off?

That was the Interurban being unveiled, the largest of the four models (at almost 14feet long). I believe the long term plan is to build proper display trestles to allow some of the cars to be rolled outside to be viewed on special occasions. At the moment a temporary one was built for that day. For the time being the cars will stay inside to be viewed from the outside which was what the original plan of the building.
I will have more information on my website, when its completed at the end of this month.
Cheers

A little update... my wife and I got married at Heritage Acres last year and had some pics taken of us by the streetcars, in the meantime. Here is a photo of me and by Grandfather beside the Birney model, separated by about 32 years.
