One of my life dreams is to open a BBQ joint. If I spent nearly half a million dollars to do so, it would be one hell of a place, let me tell you.

Would you consider instead, investing in my buffet?

And just where is YOUR buffet? Your kitchen, your leftovers?

Yah, it may just be overpriced.

They also sell liquor, right?

Yes, they sell beer.  But one of the former owners told me they sell surprisingly little.

It's more of a lunch place. They have never been able to transition to dinner, really.

Since they had to shut down a location that brings actual value into question and if their business model has met the end of its run.

 Pig closing on March 26th...

From Facebook post

"To all my loyal Pig BBQ customers and friends.

After 10 years of business I am both sad and excited to announce we will be closing as of March 26/2017.

I would be lying if I didn't confess that I have recently gone through a mid life crisis. Instead of getting hair plugs and buying a cherry Mazda Miata my wife and I bought a farm.

I am beyond excited to start my new life as a farmer and continue my love affair with food in a different capacity.

I thank you all for your support over the years and would love to see you all before we go.

Our new adventure has taken on the name Farm1740 in beautiful Cowichan Bay and we would love it if you wanted to keep tabs on our progress.

Thanks to all you for a great run

I'm so upset, I've been a huge fan for years. Best pulled pork poutine ive ever had, along with the best sandwiches

I think the pulled pork phenom lost it's lustre a while ago. Hopefully, something interesting will take over this space.

Well, I'd love it if it opened as a McDonald's, and they kept the riff-raff out.   Maybe it'll be a Tim Horton's.  Why do we not have another one downtown?

Atrium has no chain businesses now. I wonder if they will continue that policy. Might be hard to find an independent to take that presumably expensive space.

I would not be surprised to see a Starbuck's, unless Habit has a no-compete clause.

Almost kitty-corner from the existing downtown Timmie's?

Ah, that explains why they were closed at about 7 on Monday. I had walked up hoping to grab a sandwich only to find the lights out and chairs stacked on tables.

Of course, might the business have sold? The upgrades and food prep equipment in there are worth some serious cash. One would imagine that the lease for the space started in 2009 when the building was completed and would have been in five year chunks, no?
