I think the Sedin's are pretty done now and have been for awhile.

So the Canucks will not even sell out their home opener tonight vs. Edmonton. That's kind of sad.

I don't think I'll pay to watch them in person this year. For years we were sold a bunch of BS about retooling on the fly. This year they begrudgingly admit they are rebuilding, yet put their best prospect in the press box for their bloody home opener! I'm so sick of it I don't think I'll bother watching tonight.
I would not be happy if he is the 13th forward. Only 2 of Vanek, Gagner, and Burmistrov need to play on any given night. Rotate through them, but keep Jake and Brock playing

Not terribly surprising re: slumping ticket sales as pundits have predicted for weeks and months that support this year was going to be tepid; ticket brokers have been saying for some time they are bracing for weak demand this year. Not a huge surprise really. Remember too Vancouver fans aren't shy about balking at showing their support; I well remember the days not so very long ago when the team would draw 9-10,000 fans.
Problem is they're 'sort of' committed to rebuild mode without coming right out and saying so. Not sure what the strategy is either going out and signing the Gagner's and Burmistrov's and Wiercoch's of the world. Their biggest worry right now is goal-tending as neither Markstrom nor Nilsson (especially) is a sure thing starting NHL goalie. I already barked last year about the silly 6-year Erickson contract which will hang around their necks like the proverbial albatross.
At least they have a few bona fide prospects in the system unlike too many other years. But yeah going to be a long year.....

The key here is that Green is reducing the team's reliance on the Sedin's by slashing their ice time to half or less than what they've been accustomed to in recent years; last night both were down to ~ 8:30 apiece - and both only had two short shifts in the critical third period in a close game against a top opponent. This has allowed the kids - Horvat, Boeser, Virtanen - to shoulder more responsibility and hasten the evolution of the team from the Sedin era. All good developments IMO. If the goal-tending can hold up - Markstrom was outstanding last night - this just might be a real interesting season. Either way it bodes well for the future.

Boeser is leading all rookies with 21 points in 19 games. He has eleven goals including 2 goals in each of the last 2 games.
He is 29th in league scoring.
