haha, they averaged 4860 in the regular season, we've got a ways to go yet.

We had 3 sell-outs in the regular season and after tonight we will have had 4 in the playoffs.  That's not too bad.  It looks as though Kelowna has still not had a sell-out at all this year, but they had a higher average.

The Kelowna situation is weird, last night they said a sellout is 6007 but they're able to over-sell. I assume that means there are standing room tickets that aren't associated with a seat.

Prospera sell out is 6246, Save on Foods is slightly higher at 7006. Both could have additional capacity with standing room however they never completely max out AFAIK

Ya, there is a lot of extra room in the Club Lounge at Save On, but I've never seen them go above 7006, not sure if fire department allows it.  A few concerts/comedians have gone higher where the stage is in the centre, and they have seats on the floor.

2-1 Royals with 0.2 seconds left on the clock and Rockets score.

Going to OT.

The @victoriaroyals are done for this year.  3-2 OT loss in game #7 to the Rockets tonight.

The Vancouver Giants will move to Langley.

Following this announcement, Jay Janower is tweeting that Vancouver could include Victoria in its bid for the 2019 World Juniors, which Hockey Canada opened up to bidding last week.

Kind of an odd move. The Langley Event Centre's capacity is only 5,276...I guess it's better to have a full building than one that is 2/3rds empty most nights.

So does this mean the Coliseum's days are numbered?

Edit, well there you have it:

According to various sources, the Giants will save $300,000 by moving to the suburban rink from the larger East Vancouver facility.

I thought abbotsford made more sense building wise. But they probably drove too hard a bargain after their experience with the Heat.

They were only getting about 3300 per game at the Coliseum, their demographic is most definitely south of the Fraser. They haven't made money since 2010.

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.

Some major hardware was handed out to some Royals today at the WHL awards. Dave Lowry took his second Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as Coach of the Year, while Matthew Phillips won Rookie of the Year and Tyler Soy won Most Sportsmanlike Player.

A group of Royals were named to Hockey Canada development camps today.

Forward and 46-goal man Tyler Soy was named to the World Junior Team Canada Development Camp roster, while defenceman Scott Walford was named to the Under 18 Development Camp roster.

A pair of Royals prospects in 2015 1st rounder Eric Florchuk and 2015 3rd rounder Kaid Oliver were named to the Under 17 Development Camp roster.
