Pictures I took this afternoon

I like the offset boxes.  Not entirely sure why the atrium building on Douglas wasn't attached to make it one building.

Also wonder if the second building would look better at 3 stories versus 6.  How much of the taller and more interesting Pandora one will even be visible from Douglas street?  Another case of hiding a taller building or cutting it off at its knees?

I do like the view down Douglas now, as the building juts out compared to the recessed blocked just prior as seen below.

Don't we already have enough squat 3 story buildings downtown?

The Pandora building should have been taller.

The Pandora building should have been taller.

I know I am ALWAYS saying this, but I think if the Pandora building were about 3 floors taller, it would strike a better balance with the Douglas building - and no I don't think the Douglas building should have been shorter to achieve a similar balance. 5-6 floors makes works well.

Have we seen the pics on Campbell Construction's website?

This one is almost the same angle as the rendering:

For any photographers it looks like there is going to a heavy lift of the HVAC units to the top of the 750 Pandora building in the next day or two. A massive road based secondary crane was being assembled on Cormorant today.

Here are a few. Camera phone through the eyepiece of a spotting scope isn't the best.

This detail from Gary's JSB photo gives a nice glimpse of the construction of the "dome/skylight" at 1515 Douglas.

Yeah and they better have a good mechanism for cleaning the skylight's glass - just look at City Hall.   :whyme:

Ugh! is right...

Don't blame me; blame Gary's use of a photo-hosting platform that doesn't allow for image saving to jpg or png format. ;) As a matter of fact, if I hadn't posted the image of dubious quality above, Gary might never have shared his superior quality photo....so, you're welcome.
