Oh, and a little birdie tells me the Douglas Street building will be known as Douglas House.

Because 6-storey, downtown office buildings are houses?

These buildings look frickin' fabulous. The finishing and attention to detail are top notch. The ground floor is fantastic and better than, say, the Atrium.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, nevertheless I am a little disappointed that so much of the ground level of 750 Pandora seems to have been turned over to "vibrant" bike storage; more than half of the eastern facade of the first floor seems to be allocated for bicycles.

Also, in quite a number of places (especially adjacent to Cormorant Street) there are newly spray-painted red markings on the concrete. If the CoV needs to do some sort of subterranean work here, was there no way this could have been accomplished prior to the paving being completed?

The Falls IMO!! (in terms of looks) although the falls had many issues with quality later on and was released at a poor time.

This is more eye catching and iconic than the Falls, IMHO.

The Falls is great, but the beigey colour is more blend in than stand out.

It's probably the most "iconic" structure to grace the downtown core in 50 years or more.

No way! That's one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver!

What a great match for that location. Wonder if they'll run lunch hours similar to what Zambri's does, which they don't in Vancouver.

That is the type of client that the new complex behind the legislature should have been wooing over large franchises like GoodEarth Coffee. Oh well, good for downtown - bluewater is definitely upscale. You can bet BCI (formerly BCIMC) staff will be expensing many a meal there!

I'd recommend buying in Corazon right now. Those older slightly bigger units will increase in value as more and more high paying jobs pour into the glamourous office towers across the street. Rental rates will be on the rise!!

Downtown-Victoria-finance-hub-to-yield-600-workers-in-the-coming-months.jpg
BCI's new headquarters, a 13-storey office tower along the 700-block of Pandora Avenue, is currently staffed by over 500 workers. That number is expected to rise to 600 over the short term with many more more situating at BCI's Victoria headquarters over the medium term.

Downtown Victoria finance hub to staff 700 workers at newly-built office complex

https://victoria.cit...office-complex/

Hundreds of well-paid finance workers are being relocated into downtown Victoria as part of the provincial investment management corporation’s office consolidation and new headquarters project, Citified has learned.

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, known more commonly as BCI, recently transferred its head office to a newly-built 13-storey office tower along the 700-block of Pandora Avenue across from Victoria's City Hall. BCI was formerly situated out of Burnside-Gorge’s Selkirk Waterfront community where it employed 200 workers.

In March of this year BCI occupied its new digs with just over 400 workers. Two months on the staff number in excess of 500. [Full article]

Sounds like Coast Capital will have some space in this building. Unit 310, so likely an office and not a branch.

I seem to recall they used to have office space in the building across Cormorant from there.

Although it's pretty unlikely I am still hoping Coast Capital might have a branch in Hudson Place 2.

Interesting. Driving by their spot at 645 Tyee the other day, I noticed their sign was down from out front of the building. Perhaps a move from Vic West to Downtown for their Island administration office.
