That Bayside Middle School leak issue just needs an expert to go make the fixes. It's a standing-seam steel roof that ought to last more than 40 years. It's a complex roof, but likely just has some detail issues that need fixing.

Belmont is totally gone so can't use their roof

or he could lend them his boat of things get real bad.
I heard the woman in CFAX this morning talking about being on the waiting list for a new roof in 2007
CFAX asked her if she had anything to ask of the Government and she asked then to step up and fix it. Its been leaking for 20 years .
Find it hard to believe they would let it leak for 20years before going on CFAX for help

Ya, seems funny. If it was a flat roof, I'd think, OK, it needs attention. But it's all sloped, with some tricky detail. It can get fixed.

SD62 contemplate starting school before Labour Day. If nothing else, it'll be nice that the kids can wear white for the first week or two finally.

http://www.timescolo...nded-1.15164948The Sooke school district is moving ahead with expansion plans for Royal Bay Secondary sooner than anticipated.
The $38.6-million facility opened just two years ago — in 2015 — but population growth in the district has made expansion a priority. The school has gone from 800 students in its first year to just under 1,000. Four portables were added in 2016 to accommodate that growth.
“The school was always planned for expansion,” said district superintendent Jim Cambridge. “The core of the building was planned for 1,200 students.
“Growth has been exponentially faster than predicted.”
An anticipated increase of 200 students a year in the 10,000-student district has instead jumped to about 500, he said.

That government rule that limits new schools to current capacity rather than future is a massive money waster. Instead of building the school to the intended capacity in one construction, they have to build it in two phases which, in the end, probably costs more for taxpayers. What an idiotic rule.

No kidding almost every new school or addition to one ends up with portables the year after completion.
