Both of those new schools are full to capacity as soon as the doors open. Belmont will be a construction zone for many more months and there is talk that there is a high likelyhood that the old Belmont will be used for classes

It is no where near completion and occupancy may not be granted by the time school starts in a couple weeks

I've made an inquiry with SD62, we'll see what they say.

 

EDIT:  they say they are 100% go-ahead at the new Belmont.   Some classes will be held at the "community learning centre" that is part of the school.

That is nice a few pictures of some completed rooms but from the outside it appears that 1200 students will be going to school at an active construction site.

Apparently, they opened yesterday, today is the first full day of school for all grades. Wonder how they are being received?

Drove past Belmont and Royal bay last night. Seems like Belmont is quite a bit further behind landscaping wise. 

 

Didn't get any pictures of Belmont but got one of Royal Bay (RBSS). 

 

I gotta say that RBSS looks quite a bit nicer. Has a great ocean view, for now. And saw at least one Canada Goose doing its part to get the field up to snuff.

rooftop basketball looks awesome, though I don't know how much they'll be able to use it, really depends on the weather.

I think both schools look quite nice. Belmont had less room to work with which is why it's a little more dense, but otherwise I think Belmont is well set up, especially given its proximity to the sports facilities. As for capacity, I believe they have a 2,000 capacity between the two schools for what was 1,436 student at Belmont last year, so it's hardly 100% capacity as some have suggested

What kind of camera are you using HB? There seems to have a similar wide angle in all of your posts.
