Give D'Ambrosio a call. He'll be glad to help.

Know it all.

Or maybe it was Merrick. It was one of the big name local architects doing a lot of work nearly ten years ago. That would make sense because Merrick has done a lot of spec urban planning designs. Possibly could have been Number Ten. One of those three I'm sure.

Not sure if this is the best spot for this but I am working on a blog post about Lower Johnson and have been trying to find plans that the city did up about 15 or more years ago for the parking lot that is behind the buildings at the south eastern part of the 500 block. The idea was to basically turn the space into a parkette. Anyone have any memories of this that I could use to further my research?

you mean this research? :P

do you mean someone had the idea to turn that parking lot into a plaza, like what's happening behind the starbucks at blanshard & fort?

You cannot deny the flip side of that statement--that some truly awful proposals were never built because it took too long to approve them.

Although a few years old, I do agree. Even though great proposals unfortunately do get denied, it does sift out ones with not much foresight.

This proposal came up again in the 60s when the City was contemplating a freeway through Beacon Hill Park. This formed part of the "James Bay Land Use and Transportation Plan" approved by Council in 1968. https://beaconhillpa...s/chapter15.htm
