Went there last night for dinner and it is a lot smaller footprint than the old location but the tables / booths are a lot closer together so my guess is that the overall seating is similar.

The seating is split about 40/60 lounge / restaurant.

Romeo's is building a licensed patio that should be open in a few days. The mall has build a large glass roof heated gazebo in the promenade between Romeo's and the liquor store adjacent to the outdoor gas fireplace. The old Romeo's is cleared out ready for renovation into CIBC.

I see that they have put up fencing along the one side of the restaurant. Really narrow however. Not much room for a table and a walkway. I saw the gazebo but can you serve alcohol when the structure is separate from the restaurant like that? I thought it was just open seating for the whole area and not just Romeos.

Fencing is going to be on the other side of the doors as well and that may be wider. I doubt the restaurant will use the gazebo, it's more for pedestrians and patrons of the yogurt and juice stores next to it. It's quite a change from the old Broadmead. The promenade was a dead zone that only served as a way to get to the liquor store. Now it's a destination feature that will be great in summer.

What is the business that is going in opposite Romeo's? It used to be a frozen yogurt establishment.

Frozen yogurt. Now that was a fad. Yolo is always empty.

artisan bistro is the cafe that replaced menchie's. seems to have potential but maybe a couple wrinkles to work out still. i'd give it another chance. the cool thing is that a whole wall opens up & tables can spill out into that plaza area. the menu looks similar to the village if that makes sense.

I had a look at the menu recently. Seemed a bit pricey. Village is a good comparison, I think.
