Sad to lose an independent hotel, I've got a lot of memories of that place. Although how the city treated them and botched the whole crystal court project I wouldn't blame anyone wanting to sell.
Some might say they sold before a view-blocker got built on the CC property, and they may have got a better price because of that.

That's a hell of a thing. So do we assume this is leading toward a combined redevelopment of the hotel site and the motel site at some point in the future?
I never even thought of that. Good call for sure.

That was my first thought.

I don't see that Concert owns many, if any hotels. So development opportunities make sense.
Condo conversion perhaps?

Does Concert own the CC site?
Westbank Projects owns the site.
Know it all.

Concert has not officially announced its plans for the building after the hotel closes but the building is in good shape and most suites have kitchens.

If so, I hope they do something to spiffy up the exterior of the building a bit. Not sure what.

Who owns the Crystal Court site? I suppose if Concert did, they could then redevelop Crystal Court w/o objections from the QV owner.
Austin Hamilton sold the CC motel site to Westbank some time ago...

I have it on excellent authority that they will be turning the QV and Samuel's into assisted living units and a main dining hall for seniors...
I may be alone in this, but I will miss the "darn good for the price" Sunday buffet at Samuel's if this rumour is true.
