There was still no occupancy permit as of last night.  So nobody slept overnight, but some belongings were moved in.  It might come today.

Do you know if this is just for building A or will occupancy be given for all three buildings?

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with the layout.  My intel is direct from Shane King this morning.  He has been quoted in a news media story about the problems, his client was temporarily "homeless".  Now, I'm sure she was not really, as Shane would never let that happen, but he was in the news and I spoke to him this morning.

I saw people moving into the furthest west building, or the building that does not front Quadra.

Now he tells me they have the go-ahead.

I'm not sure if the last building is occupied. There is no junk on the balconies.

It's like the architect struggled to find a way to integrate the project with the steep grade of Quadra street and just gave up and installed a bunch of park benches along the property. Will 12 people enjoy hanging out there?

Ah, gotcha. Which one is the last building in terms of name or designation? Do we know any of that?

Dont care what anybody else says, these building look nice and the landscaping seems as though somebody tried to make an effort to encourage community building. Is this the first phase of a multi phase project? Just curious because there is the one photo there with a leveled lot, but no fence (apart from the construction fencing) dividing it.

This project is all wrapped up now, just three buildings. The lot in behind the Shire site is Olivia Residences by a different builder.

As a neighbour, I can confirm that they are not wrapped up! Landscaping is still a mess and workers are on site daily doing something inside the buildings. Building C does not seem to be done.

As a neighbour, I also agree that this project looks nice. A bit too bland with too many earth tones, but overall it looks good.

Well, considering the name I feel the fact that this project is above ground to be a bit of a travesty. Earth tones is the best we'll get! :P

A construction firm has been issued a fine related to the death of an employee at a Saanich work site in 2017.

In the May/June issue of WorkSafe magazine, a $7,944.63 fine was imposed on Cedar Grove Framing Corp. on December 6, 2018.

Although WorkSafe BC does not name the worker who died, 51-year-old Roland Huetzelmann was identified shortly after the incident.

WorkSafe BC says the worker was installing a plywood subfloor on the fourth storey of a building on Quadra Street when a gust of wind caused a sheet of plywood to lift up.
