Some work has been done in the rear of the building in recent weeks. Perhaps Jon knows the details, but it looks like a portion of wall has been taken out in that rear stairwell or whatever the rear portion of the building is.

We're really looking forward to the BOOK (and moving in, of course). What an awesome undertaking by the developer, both to commission this work, and then to produce and offer a copy to the original buyers in the Janion.
To quote the email I received:
"experienced heritage developers, we knew that a brick building on the waterfront of one of the most livable cities in North America offered a rare opportunity. But it was when we toured the inside of the building that we saw something that is even more unique - a 122-year-old interior that had neither been renovated nor maintained.
We decided that before we did any work on the building we would commission architectural photographers to document this Victorian-era time capsule.
In order to share these stunning images with the purchasers of The Janion Micro-Lofts, we commissioned The Janion 1891-2013, a limited edition, large format pictorial book, filled with striking images of the untouched, original interior structure of The Janion.
We will be presenting a copy of this hand-bound book to every purchaser of a home at The Janion Micro-Lofts at a special event reception, at the The Janion Presentation Centre on April 26th, 2014."
Well done!

Wow! I hope our Public Library will order a copy so the rest of us can enjoy it. (I'm putting in my suggestion, today.)

Soils work should start in the next 10 days or so. Strip out more or less finished now.

Yesterday we had a fun book launch event with all the purchasers. Everyone got a book and we gave away another Janion bike.
We hope to make some books available for Sale at Munro's. If you want one email them to say they should carry the book.

Wow that tower sounds like a cool concept with all the common areas. Any thoughts on going a bit bigger with the idea elsewhere in Victoria?

Northern Junk?

Yeah but I was specifically meaning a large scale microloft project with a ton of common space like the 30 storey one in the article. Maybe a 18 storey for Vic?
