I've seen quite a few instances now of really young kids using this bike track. Kids that otherwise would never have had the opportunity to ride downtown. Certainly one of the better benefits is that young kids are now building the confidence and skills to ride "in/near traffic".

I see appalling behaviour in equal measure from pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. I know you tend to only notice the bad ones but there are folks in all 3 groups who seem to operate under the belief that they are somehow invincible.

I'm surprised these bike lanes don't close at sunset like the new park.

You can't camp in a bike lane.

Well, that's why they didn't run them down the south side of Pandora - there would be obstructions were the lanes to run down that side...

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Definitely seeing diversion of bike traffic to these lanes. Also seeing a lot more bikes crossing the bridge. Makes a much better connection to the goose. Bike racks are full too. Sorry folks, this is just the start because it already looks successful!

I'm also wasting much more time idling at lights on Pandora now.  That's ok, I hold the gas pedal down just a little bit to do my part to offset the carbon savings from the cyclists.

Hold on one minute.  It's Bike To Work Week this week.

I'll deem the path a success when the amount of time bikes are crossing Quadra with me facing a red light in the turn lane exceeds the amount of time I spend staring at an empty lane.

Most mornings I could make the turn 10 times while sitting waiting.

Will they?  Because today at 5PM I saw 0 bikes on the bike path on pandora through 3 light changes.

I did see one guy weaving all over Johnson street though.

Yes, they will. It is the one reason I'm happy we have hippies, pot heads, communists, Idealistic poets, a business man, and some crackpot old lady as councillors. (Even though I didn't vote for a single one). Change takes bold leadership and this start of a network will be a bigger deal for this city than that silly bridge ever will be. Should have been a $50,000 paint job and a region wide bike network instead....

This could be cyclists from other roads (like Yates St) coming over to Pandora. We don't really know at this point.

You guys do realize that the (much bigger, much more expensive) roads built for cars sometimes don't have any cars at all on them, right?

What?!? The street in front of your house at 2:00 AM?

You know there are bike lanes out there...

I just biked up Pandora and there were no cars on it between Store and Douglas, and only 1 from Douglas to Blanshard.  Time to close the road to cars obviously.
