From Gordon Head FB page.

These homes were on Blair, and north of Blair, as well as Jamaicaand Parkside etc. west of Cedar Hill Rd.

The subdivision of Carnegie Crescent, Oberlin, Magdelin, Morningside, and one side of Blair was promoted as "University Village". The promotional info read as follows: "The developers of University Village are presenting Victoria's first completely planned community. The vitality of University Village will flow from its centres. The recreational centres are the country club with its two pools being build and given to the residents of University Village and the donated 2 1/2 acre park. The landscaped mall with its distinctively designed shops will be the meeting centre. The 5 schools in close proximity and the bus at the corner complete this well planned community." My dad was always put off that the neighbourhood didn't really develop the way it was promoted. No country club with two pool or mall. I think the little park was fine, though, and we did have a brand new school built in time for me to start grade 1 (Fairburn 1966).
