The Land Conservancy of B.C. is hoping heavy rains and wind won’t dampen spirits — literally — at a symbolic “burning of the mortgage” for Sooke potholes this afternoon.

That reminds, me there are public meetings coming up regarding the management plan for this area:

I remember playing here as a kid! I'll miss it, hope the plans to do something nice with it actually happen.

The fireplace is still standing I believe. All fenced off now.

The mortgage that went up in smoke was due on March of 2012. It was at 5% per annum and the amount owing was $37,500 according to the 2009 financial statement on the TLC website.

I remember going to the potholes as a child in summer camp and seeing this in all its glory. Too bad it was never finished.
