YST gets a new awning.

Worksafe BC would not likely approve of the guy on the smaller ladder.  The guy should know better.

Mike K. and I had the pleasure of visiting last night on their 5th anniversary party date.  A good time was had.  These guys are class operators.

Still moving forward, they got through some licensing hurdle just this week.  Mike knows more than I, I think.

+1 for Yates St. Taphouse. They very generously sponsored my dragon boat team, and we've been there several times and have had nothing but good times. Their food has a few misses here and there, but overall it's pretty good, and they have a good rotating selection of drinks. Totally recommended.

The best place in town for me. Fantastic food (Maple Pork Bites!!!), great beer selection and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

I might be a little biased since I'm there so often, but to me it just seems to be exactly the right size.  When it's going full bore on a Friday night, there are 4 or 5 bartenders and 8 or 10 servers/hosts it seems.  But it's still small enough that we know most of them by name.

The $10 lunch selections M-F is great value.

They have added some bright LED white accent lights to the glass awning, it looks nice.

I’ve got a lunch time business meeting there today. Great ambiance for midday meetings, too.

Wow Taphouse just jumped the shark. Music now provided by an app that lets people make requests. No chance in hell I want to listen to what the 19 year olds on the other side of the bar are requesting.

Judging by the reviews they're getting on social media, it's not going well: https://www.facebook...0Beers/reviews/

Facebook and Yelp reviews are to be taken with a grain of salt. I have seen people negatively swarm review a business, just on word of mouth that they did something. Wonder how many of these negative reviews are the DJ's friend?

Seems like they took notice:

I don't recall them ever "taking a break during the summer", though.

Yes seems to be a lot of fuss about nothing. One mans app is another mans DJ.

There's a reason that you don't see jukeboxes around anymore :)
