I’m OK with LGE taking a political stance.

If you are a commercial entity and you wish to use your resources to promote a candidate then you should read BC’s campaign financial laws to make sure everything is done properly and you register if necessary.

Thanks for the comments. We dont have enough shows allocated between now and the election to get everyone in and our format isnt really platform focused, more a chance for listeners to get to know a candidate in a relaxed non confrontational way. I would suggest most candidates PR people wouldnt allow them to join us as we dont provide up front questions and there is very little effort to keep to a theme. My goal since starting 29er Radio 10 years ago was and still is to strengthen community through honest conversation.  Think cocktail party, meeting new person and that sinking feeling you get when both your drinks are done and you know that most likely when you go to refresh, the conversation will be over, leaving you with the thought, "Damn that person was interesting" We have Marianne Alto coming up and for fairness I have repeatedly asked Mr Andrew to join us, but to date he has passed on our invitation.

And as far as my political stance goes, I will bastardize an old Beatie Boys line,  "if you think, Vote, and if you Vote, think"

Curious - do you have any way of knowing how many listeners you have?

How do you promote this podcast? I've only ever seen reference to it on this forum.

My tech people tell me we get 6000 downloads per show and our promotion occurs on FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and here. We also host a F&B podcast called Table Nine Podcast which is co hosted with local restaurant expert John Reese. Thanks for asking

Jeremy Caradonna would best contribute to the future success of our communities by choosing to not run for council. He's just another TV candidate.

Interesting take Nparker. I have known him for a while and do not get that impression or vibe, but no one has ever accused me of being sensitive so maybe I am missing something. Hope you manage to vote.

Interesting take Nparker. I have known him for a while and do not get that impression or vibe...

From Mr. Caradonna's campaign website:

  • Shelter every unsheltered person in Victoria. The municipality has the ability to shelter the ~150 people sleeping rough in Victoria
  • Using Conestoga huts, modular units, and/or shipping containers, build 5-6 additional tiny home villages in the CRD, on public-owned hardscapes, as medium-term sheltering solutions for those awaiting transition to social housing
  • Provide security, washrooms, and support services to tiny home villages
  • Hire ~25 unhoused Victorians to work as street cleaners to help clean up Pandora Avenue and the downtown core
  • Apply a ‘climate lens’ and ‘donut economics’ to all city-level decisions
  • Ban new natural gas hookups to houses by 2025 (exception: cooking ranges and ornamental fireplaces)
  • Work with neighbourhoods to speed up rate of home oil tank removals
  • Drastically reduce emissions from waste and home deconstruction
  • Increase Victoria’s urban canopy and urban agriculture (soil building as carbon sink)
  • Lobby the Federal government to better regulate cargo ships and cruise ships
  • Conserve and enhance Victoria’s ecosystem services and natural assets to better work with nature in adapting to a changing climate
  • Prioritize ending of the toxic drug crisis via harm reduction strategies and drug decriminalization
  • Build better infrastructure for e-bikes and lay groundwork for regional light rail
  • Prioritize Indigenous reconciliation at the municipal level and build on the City Family

Straight out of the TV handbook.
